PERSUIT: From Defending Spend to Managing It
RSGI’s latest research is out today, commissioned by PERSUIT.
In a series of long-form, anonymised interviews with 25 in-house legal teams across the US and Europe, we asked a straightforward question: what value are large legal departments actually getting from PERSUIT, and can they prove it to Finance?
Ranging from departments with under $10mn in annual outside counsel spend to global enterprises running over $250mn, the research finds fast, measurable ROI, and something harder to quantify: a genuine shift in how Finance thinks about Legal.
Key findings:
- 76% ranked PERSUIT #1 for speed to value compared with other legal technology tools
- 64% could credibly demonstrate impact to leadership within three months
- 68% reported increased credibility with Finance and the business
- Reported cost avoidance ranged from $500,000 to over $30mn in a single year, with two-thirds of participants shaving 20%–34% off matters processed on the platform
The numbers matter, but what comes through most clearly in the research is a change in the conversation itself: healthier conversations with their colleagues in Finance. By making clear that Legal is no less disciplined than the rest of the business when it comes to procuring services, PERSUIT turns what has all too often been a fraught and defensive dialogue into a fluent and productive one.
As one legal ops leader put it, “Legal spend has always been a bit of an unknown and a black box – we are buying quality of services instead of widgets. PERSUIT has shown the CFO in real time that we have a lot of levers we can pull on spend.”
