Rob Hewett
Rob is a researcher and part of the FT Innovative Lawyers team, conducting interviews, analysis, and writing content for FT special reports. Additionally, he contributes to client advisory projects with a focus on strategic communications and data analysis.
After graduating from the University of Edinburgh in 2020 with a MA (Hons) in Spanish & Linguistics – including a year studying in Barcelona – Rob worked globally for a sports data company. Thanks to extensive travel, he was able to hone his business language skills in Spanish and French (as well as performing some remedial work on his Russian) and develop project management expertise.
He later pursued an MSc in Theory & History of International Relations at LSE in 2022, focusing on research methodologies and conducting a dissertation on the influence of anti-Communism during the abolition of Costa Rica’s army in 1948/9. Before RSGI, he worked for a thinktank with a focus on systems change.
Outside work, Rob enjoys the art of cartography, playing field hockey, and making fresh ravioli. He is also attempting to regain his aptitude for chess, having been U12 county champion.
